Watch the video to see Harry approach his seat, which is between his costars Chris and Gemma Chan, and just before he settles in, he can be seen appearing to lean forward and purse his lips in a spitting motion. Everything is swift and seamless.
It’s hard to say for sure based solely on the video clip whether he actually spat or not, but Chris’ response certainly seems to indicate he, at the very least, considered being spit on.

Pine stops clapping abruptly and looks down at his leg or seat before looking up in what seems to be comical disbelief that this just transpired. The question of whether Harry committed the act or not is still up for debate because he acts normally. According to several people who are close to Chris, there was actual spitting that Chris took offense to and took as a sign of disrespect. According to other sources, Harry did not actually spit; the video only made it appear that way.
The “spit shot” can be seen from a few different perspectives. and in some, it appears clearer than in others, which might be to Harry’s advantage. Chris can be seen appearing a little tense in one video of him standing up and cheering, which was likely after the credits had finished.
