Tuesday, May 25 saw the list of Daytime Emmy nominations revealed- one month ahead of the broadcast.
Included this year are two posthumous nominations. Late Jeopardy! host, Alex Trebek has been nominated in the Outstanding Game Show Host category and Larry King received a nom in the Outstanding Informative Talk Show Host for Larry King Now.
Each of the four big soaps- The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives, General Hospital and The Young and the Restless made it to the Outstanding Drama Series category. General Hospital earned the most soap noms over all the applicable categories, smashing the competition with 19 nods. This was almost half of all soap nominations in acting, directing and writing. Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless brought in 8 nominations each with the Bold and the Beautiful receiving only 6.
The 48th Daytime Emmy Awards will be another remotely-produced special, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It will look similar to the 2020 awards. The virtual ceremony will air on June 25 at 8 pm ET on CBS and will stream on Paramount+
