Okay, this may not be surprising to many, but ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers finds that we love Xander Cook (Paul Telfer), and we think he’s been getting a really raw deal lately.

It feels like he’s being beaten down so he can achieve the ultimate success, and we think he’s Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston)’s son.

This may sound farfetched, and we have to admit it’s more of a gut feeling than anything, but it does make sense.

Since he arrived in Salem, Xander has sought only to prove himself to Victor and be welcomed into the Kiriakis family, but more often than not he was treated as the red headed stepchild.

After Victor passed away, Xander was hit hard by the news. Sure, it was partly because he’d never have a chance to prove himself to Victor, but also because he loved the curmudgeon.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Breaking in

In many ways, Xander is a lot like Victor just like Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) is. Where as Alex has a ruthlessness when it comes to business, Xander has it in every area and he’s tried to be a better man.

While we’re not fans of him and Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) getting back together again, they are a near perfect couple in the mold of Victor and Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers).

It’s a cool comparison, and given how Xander had a flashback after learning that Victor died where Victor told him he’s a true Kiriakis, it feels right.

Scenes like that aren’t just thrown away, though they did so when Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) had the steak knife that was used to kill Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller) and that was never revisited.

    But that’s another story.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Heightening the drama

Along with Xander and Victor sharing a criminal background, they also share a love for Maggie that’s unmatched by most.

'Days Of Our Lives' Spoilers: Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) Hired The SHADIEST Lawyer In Town! Queue Sloan Peterson (Jessica Serfaty)!

But more than what they have in common, the show could be making a huge mistake if they choose to pass up the drama that could ensue when Alex learns he’s not Victor’s son.

He’ll be forced to apologize to Maggie and others after they blast him to cover their own insecurities and force him to become more ruthless, but he also has someone that could be his Maggie in Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein).

Unlike Sarah turning on Xander when he falters, Stephanie has shown a willingness to listen to Alex and she can see and understand how he’s trying to better himself, but is that enough?

In the end, we think Xander is the best choice simply because the show needs that ruthlessness back in a top spot again, and for it to be Alex he’ll have to undergo some drastic changes.

Could Xander be Victor’s son? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘Days of Our Lives’ for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
