‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers suggest that Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) look like they may be on the outs.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: EJ Asked Eric If There Was “Trouble In Paradise”
When Nicole and Eric left for Paris last year, it looked like the star-crossed couple had finally ridden off into the sunset together after years of being kept apart.
EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Sloan Peterson (Jessica Serfaty) hid the truth about baby Jude’s paternity to keep their respective relationships intact.
At the time, EJ was married to Nicole. He was insecure and desperate to prevent her from returning to Eric if Nicole were to discover that Eric was not the father of her child, but rather EJ.
Fast forward to May this year, and Eric was in town visiting John Black (Drake Hogestyn) before he passed away.
When EJ and Eric ran into each other at Horton Square. EJ insinuated there might be “trouble in paradise” when he saw Nicole and his son weren’t with him.
We had to wonder if there was anything more behind it other than EJ being EJ. Eric and Nicole are in town for the Salem High School Graduation ceremony.
However, some hints were dropped that Eric and Nicole may be headed for Splitsville. Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) mentioned that Eric and Nicole were sitting on opposite sides of the auditorium, ignoring each other. Nicole left immediately after the ceremony.
There is much speculation that when Greg Vaughan returns to the Days of Our Lives canvas, he and Nicole will have separated.
Since new writers Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford have taken the reins, fans have been asking if we may see a recast of Nicole.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Arianne Zucker Involved In A Legal Battle With NBC And Days
Unless Days fans’ prayers are answered, it doesn’t appear that Ari Zucker will be returning. She’s suing NBC and several individuals, including the executive producer, a former producer, and a director.
The actress claimed there was some inappropriate behavior and sexual harassment behind the scenes. From what we understand, it’s not a wise idea for the show to rehire an actor who’s pursuing legal action against them. Unfortunately, it’s the nature of the business.
Many fans have wondered if Nicole would ever be recast. Despite her importance to the soap and her rich history with many of the characters, it’s beyond a long shot.
Another reason is that viewers may not accept a recast of Nicole even if they find the perfect actress to assume the role. Ari was ingrained in Nicole, and she’s what we call a legendary character. Much of what Nicole is, was and will become is due to Ari.
Not to mention, Arianne Zucker is the only actress to have played Nicole. The show would also face a lot of backlash for hiring a new actress for the part after allegations of sexual harassment. It wouldn’t exactly be a good look for Days.
It’s a shame Ari was forced to leave since Nicole really is such an integral part of the Days canvas. However, Eric will return. Fans will no doubt be upset that Eric and Nicole didn’t get the happily ever after they deserved.
