‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers confirm that there is speculation over whether EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), Cat Greene (AnnaLynn McCord), and Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) may end up in a steamy love triangle.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: EJ Bids On A Date With Cat For The Hospital Fundraiser
The soap has dropped several hints over the past couple of months that the three of them could find themselves in a major romantic dilemma.
First, a leaked picture and video of the three actors from the 60th anniversary photo shoot, shared by AnnaLynn McCord on social media, surfaced.
McCord’s shared snap had fans buzzing, and Days fans were left curious as the pretty actress appeared to have a sizzling chemistry with both actors.
McCord made it a point to mention that she enjoyed being between “the two handsome DiMera men.” Then, there was the odd situation of EJ bidding on a date with Cat for the hospital fundraiser.
EJ was involved in a blissful relationship with Belle Black (Martha Madison), but there had to be a more compelling reason why the show set it up that way.
While EJ may be sincere about his “changed man act” (for now), his recent break-up with Belle could lead him in another direction.
Belle wants to honor her late father, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and believes he would disapprove of her being with EJ, which she has made clear to him.
Once EJ realizes Chad has feelings for Cat, despite her spending months impersonating Chad’s late wife, Abigail DiMera (last played by Marci Miller), he decides to give his “date” to his brother.
Of course, that didn’t stop Chad’s desire to know what exactly EJ’s intentions were. EJ responded vaguely with, “It seemed like it would be fun.” Some fans wondered then if there would be a future romantic entanglement between EJ and Cat.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Chad’s Eternal Love For Abigail Could Be A Dealbreaker
Billy Flynn will be seen on Days through 2026, as he’s moved on to CBS soap, The Young and the Restless, and the show will likely want to wrap up Chad and Cat’s relationship by then. Although their skydiving date was a delight to watch.
We also haven’t cared much for EJ and Belle as a couple. While many fans seem to have taken a shine to them, we never really bought into it.
It’s sweet that they love each other, but their chemistry doesn’t exactly set off sparks. EJ seems a bit too “well-behaved” with her as well, and he’s more fun when he leans into his “DiMera” instincts.
Cat is someone who would perhaps complement EJ better. Unlike Belle, she’s not all nice and has no spice. She’s more like EJ in a lot of ways, and they would no doubt sizzle together.
Another reason we wonder if the show is planning to put them together in a triangle is because of Chad’s perpetual inability to move on from Abigail.
Jennifer Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) recently reminded Chad that being with Cat would dishonor Abigail’s memory. In the end, his eternal love for Abigail may be the very dealbreaker that makes Chad walk away.
