‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal that in the January 15th episode of DOOL, Xander Kiriakis (Paul Telfer) finally stood up to his ex-wife, Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey), and we couldn’t be happier about it.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Sarah Is One of the Most Hypocritical Characters on DOOL
Sarah is one of the most hypocritical characters on the soap. She demands total perfection from him, yet she’s made her fair share of mistakes, especially throughout their marriage.
Sarah has held Xander to an impossible standard. Yet, she refuses to take responsibility for her role in the decimation of their marriage.
She lied to him for months when she knew that his brother, Philip Kiriakis (John Paul Laviosier), had forged a letter, giving him half of Titan, but said nothing until Xander found out from Philip that she knew all along.

Yes, Xander went berserk and gave Philip a brutal beating. However, Xander has since reconciled with his brother, and now his relationship with Philip is strong and healthy.
If Philp can forgive Xander for the incident, Sarah should really consider letting it go. Plus, Xander is the first person to admit his own mistakes.
He’s doing well in therapy and working hard on himself. Sarah has been unreasonable about Xander’s visitation rights, and she basically told him he would never see his daughter again.

She won’t even give him credit for attending anger management therapy and making inroads with his brother. So, today on DOOL, Xander finally had it with Sarah and spoke the truth.
He advised her to look in the mirror, because she’s not perfect either. Yet sanctimonious Sarah told Xander that his issues were far worse than hers.
She won’t even acknowledge that perhaps some of her actions have caused Xander to lash out. Sarah was furious because Xander had fired Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Xander Gave Sarah a Much-Needed Reality Check
He was right to do so. Xander’s issues with Brady had been building for a while. Xander and Philip are the only ones who seem to actually work at Titan.
Xander and Philip carry most of the weight when it comes to the family company. We also think that Brady conveniently used moving out of Marlena Evans’s (Deidre Hall) townhouse as an excuse to move into the Kiriakis mansion with Sarah.
Xander is right to defend himself and give Sarah a much -needed reality check. Xander and Sarah were stuck in a pattern of him constantly trying to change for her.

Sarah would get pissed off at something Xander did wrong, the two of them would separate, and they would always end up back together again. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Truthfully, it seems like no matter what Xander does, Sarah is never able to fully accept him. She inevitably always finds a way to be angry and resent Xander if he doesn’t live up to her vision of the perfect partner.
Perhaps, instead of the writers using Xander and Sarah’s break from each other as yet another plot device to bring them back together again, they could see this as an opportunity to allow Xander to find a woman who will truly embrace him and love him for the man who he is. Not for who she wants him to be.
