‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) Spoilers is asking if anyone think it was quite strange the way Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Will Horton (Chandler Massey) were cellmates? Given their history, you would think that the Statesville Correctional Department would do everything in their power to keep them apart. After all, Ben tried to kill Will during his serial killer days. He didn’t succeed but he sure made a convincing show of it for awhile. Then again maybe that’s what Statesville wants, maybe they want these two to be in prison together so that Ben will finally snap and kill Will for real. It would cut down on prison overpopulation and ultimately save Statesville a lot of money.

However, what if there’s a reason Ben Weston isn’t doing that? You could argue that it was because they used to be best friends he doesn’t want to kill his best friend even though he previously had no problem with it when he was sufficiently panicked. But, to be fair, Ben had an undiagnosed brain tumor at the time and I suppose if I had a mass pressing on my cerebral cortex my decision making wouldn’t make all that much sense either.

And why was Will suddenly so interested in Ben letting Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) see other people? That seems so odd for him to be suddenly interested. One would assume that they’ve been in statesville awhile and the topic has just now come up? Will Horton doesn’t hold Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) to holding out for him while he’s in jail so I guess he wonders if Ben will do the same for Ciara. Then again, Will did something that Sonny could possibly never forgive – he was responsible for the death of Adrienne Kiriakis (Judi Evans), Sonny’s Mom, so that is probably another reason why Will isn’t holding out hope for their relationship. (That’s a weird outcome in itself but we’ll discuss that later.)

Perhaps this prison friendship has become mutually beneficial in more ways that one. Maybe it originally started out as a cover for Ben to protect his former best friend from a bunch of hardened criminals potentially victimizing him. Both Will and Ben played along, but somewhere along the way some real feelings got involved and now maybe Will is testing the waters. Maybe he wants his best friend to continue their relationship while on the outside and be more than his best friend. Of course, Ciara will always be Ben’s one true love, but maybe, just maybe, she has a little bit of competition in Will.

After all, with Ben being in prison and all, I’m sure he’s experienced some really epic times of need and missed his girl really badly. Same with Will, missing his husband and the love they shared together. If he and Ben got close enough then who’s to say that they haven’t shared a tender moment or two behind bars? One that might make one or the other a little possessive of the other one, even on the outside? This is all just speculation on my part, in order to see the true story behind Will and Ben’s motivations, we’ll have to stay tuned!!!
