‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers indicate that star Freddie Smith (Sonny Kiriakis) is opening up about his character and what’s next for him in Salem. The actor says that Freddie has had a whirlwind journey in the last several months, with his partner Will Horton (Chandler Massey) given a second chance at life. The actor also recently passed his 750-episode mark in his Days of Our Lives career and admits that it’s been one incredible journey so far. Here’s what he has to say.

Reflecting on his long career at the soap, Freddie told Soaps in Depth in a new interview, “I was just a 23-year-old kid when I booked the role… I didn’t know if it was gonna last two months or two days! Everyone treats me so good over there, so I would love to just [remain] part of the family.”

With that said, seeing how Sonny Kiriakis has endured everything that you can think of for a character, Freddie says that what’s next will definitely surprise everyone. But let’s not forget that Sonny has been blackmailed fired, stabbed, widowed and even stranded on an island to die! But according to the actor, there’s still time for Sonny to develop “a drug or alcohol problem or be hit in the head… something to change him from the amazing, positive, successful, loving guy into someone who makes bad decisions.”
Freddie said that even if Sonny does end up hitting rock bottom, it would be interesting “watching him climb back out to be the person everyone loved. I think that would be a really cool storyline.” Now that is definitely a statement that we can agree with. Fans and viewers will simply have to continue tuning in to Days of Our Lives to see what will happen next!
