Well, ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers haven’t been fans of Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein) since the beginning thanks to Chad using every underhanded trick he could to make Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) react.
Add to that how Stephanie later told Chad Alex was merely a holding place for her until he was ready and Chad’s kids accepted her without a second’s hesitation and we were done.

The level of lazy writing broke us, but it looks like the worm has turned as Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) finally spoke up about Chad’s, shall we say, unreadiness for a relationship.
It’s been a while coming and we have no doubt it’s going to come back to bite him big time when Stephanie learns about it since she hates when someone interferes and makes decisions for her.
But at least Steve will have Kayla Brady (Mary Beth Evans) by his side to back him up.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Unwilling to take the next step
While Kayla may be in agreement, she also told Steve to not say anything, and Steve, like any protective dad, ignored her and pushed Chad to make a decision.
The last thing he wants is to see Stephanie hurt, and despite it being her life he’s going to try to help whether she’ll want to send him to Shady Pines (see what we did there?) or let him live in peace.
Still, it was something that had to happen and the show’s been building for this with Chad obviously still grieving since he wasn’t ready to move on, and Stephanie wearing the same costume Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller) did except with the neck wings down just pushed that further.
It’s something neither of them wants to admit, and while she keeps making concessions for Chad’s benefit he’s not doing much in return.
We don’t blame him for grieving still as everyone takes different times with it, but the fact he’s holding on speaks more to him needing time and probably therapy to deal with it than not.

Despite Stephanie’s upcoming protests, Chad knows Steve is right and ‘Days of Our Lives’ expect him to decide they need to spend time apart.
This will break her heart, and she my break Steve’s head for his interference, but in the end it’ll either make them stronger or send them on opposite paths.
Of course, that would be the sensible and respectable thing for Chad to do, and he’s done anything but those since Stephanie entered the picture.
