First off, he stepped up when Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) needed him. He not only agreed to claim Sarah’s baby, he also faked the test to back it up. Since then, he’s been there for Sarah in every way. He’s even fallen hard for the baby, and sees her as his own. While the scam wasn’t built to last, the fallout proved he’s a real stand-up guy.

So, not everyone might think that. Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) wouldn’t, that’s for sure. He’s so angry about the scam that he demanded Xander stay out of Mickey’s life, or he’ll sue for full custody. At first, Xander was angry and ready to fight. He felt after so many months of raising that child, he shouldn’t be cut entirely out. But, this is where he shows what he’s made of.

Xander decided to take one of the team. Days of Our Lives spoilers relate that he agreed to step aside. He realized fighting would cause Sarah to lose Mickey, and he didn’t want to put her through that again. Even so, when he learned Mickey’s in the hospital, he accompanied Sarah and demanded to see the little girl. Only Sarah’s promise to keep him updated made him back off. We think his obvious devotion to that child makes him someone to root for. Sadly, we’re not seeing a good end.

First, Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) is determined to uncover his sin. She came close when she got access to a lock box, but the box ultimately didn’t contain incriminating evidence. Sooner or later, she will find something. That’s going to ruin the budding relationship between him and Sarah, as well as any hope of being in Mickey’s life. But, there’s something even worse.
Days of Our Lives spoilers hint Mickey is not only extremely ill, but she isn’t even Sarah’s child. If that one comes true, this will be a devastating blow to both of them and will likely see Xander go back to his old ways.
