‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers have noticed there’s been a trend the last year where characters in the different shows are being changed in one way or another, and it’s rarely a gradual chance.
One that’s gotten our attention, and not always for the better, is Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers).
It was cool when she stepped in for Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) at times and showed he knew more than anyone gave her credit for, and then when she took over Titan she showed a good sense.
But her style clashed with Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson)’s and it led to a divide that hasn’t healed but widened since Alex found out he’s Victor’s son and was given control of Titan.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Maggie plays the victim
While him replacing Maggie may not have been popular, the argument that Victor wanted her to stay makes sense in the way of he’d hoped his son and wife could work together.
In the end, as the power behind Titan, it’s up to Alex to decide who runs it and they decided to go their separate ways.
Since then, Maggie’s been more aggressive in confronting and challenging Alex on just about everything.
She was like this prior to him taking over Titan, accusing him of purposely losing a client like leaving Titan was a huge grand scheme of his, but it’s gotten worse in a lot of ways.
When she confronted him in Horton Square and accused him of still being the shallow womanizer he used to be despite knowing he’s been trying to change, she showed her inability or unwillingness to see past her own judgement and newfound victim mentality and it’s infuriating.
What made this scene stand out even more is her attempt to use Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) as a way to maneuver in to insult Alex and didn’t come clean until he called her on it.
In her mind, Alex is and always will be a chauvinist and that’s his whole reason for his and Maggie’s problems when it’s more her perception of things.
For her, she’s the perennial victim with Alex and the writers continue to push it despite showing Alex is changing as Maggie is loved by everyone so it much be Alex’s fault.
Maggie deserves a better storyline than playing victim when she doesn’t get what she wants, but we never say never and things could turn around and she and Alex will find a way to work together and both can grow from this.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – She can’t let go
Despite mutually agreeing for her to leave Titan even after he offered to work with her, she’s doing what she can to force her way back into the company.
She already contacted one board member and has Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) on her side, and it’s only a matter of time until she’s back at Titan and she and Alex will butt heads.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers expect this to be a step toward breaking Alex down and humbling him despite him already being humble, so when the truth comes out and Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) takes his place Alex can do an apology tour.
This part of his storyline as well as turning Maggie into a vindictive victim hasn’t been the writers’ best, and it’s only a matter of time for Alex to suffer a huge fall he didn’t really need.
