‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal that Hank Northrop is set to make his DOOL debut on Wednesday, October 29th.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Hank’s Father, Wayne Northrop, Played The First Roman Brady
Hank is the son of the late Wayne Northrop, who played the first Roman Brady on the soap from 1981 to 1984 and then again from 1991 to 1994. Northrop returned as a new character, Dr. Alex North, from 2005 to 2006.
Sadly, Hank’s father passed away in November 2024. His mother, Lynn Herring, is also a major soap star. She plays Lucy Coe on General Hospital. Herring also spent some time in Salem, playing Lisanne Gardner in 1992.
DOOL fans may recognize Hank from the Apple+ series The Morning Show, where he played an unruly protester.
On DOOL, Hank will portray the role of Liam Selejko. His first scenes will be with Abe Carver (James Reynolds). Abe will be Liam’s literary mentor. Abe recently volunteered his time to a literacy program run by Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes).
In an interesting twist, Northrop’s character, Liam, once bullied Abe’s son, Theo Carver (Tyler Joseph Andrews), for being autistic. Apparently, the two of them went to school together. Liam is also a very troubled young man. He was also recently arrested for stealing a car.
Once Abe realizes who Liam really is, will he still want to help him? Or will Theo convince his father to drop him as a student?
Abe may still try to help Liam redeem himself, as he has a rocky past and may express a sincere desire to change. Northrop also explained that Liam’s journey is a “transformative” one.

A feud may also erupt between Theo and Liam as they could compete for a certain young lady’s attention. Recently, Theo and Arianna Horton (Marrissa Reyes) met each other at Horton Square.
The two of them hit it off and started up with some flirtatious banter. How would Gabi Hernandez (Cherie Jimenez) react to Ari becoming involved with either one of them?
Gabi seems like the type of mom who would proactively oppose her teenage daughter dating either a “bad boy” or an older man like Theo.
Gabi will definitely disapprove of Ari dating someone with a criminal record. It will be fun to see what kind of trouble Liam stirs up.
DOOL’s casting was announced in February, and the details of his character were kept hush-hush. Hank’s father, Wayne Northrop, was close with James Reynolds, who was Northrop’s on-screen partner at the Salem PD.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Hank Shared His First Scenes With James Reynolds
Hank opened up about how cool it was to share his first scenes with the actor with whom his father had a strong bond and worked most closely. Northrop told TV Insider,
“My dad always said, James has the best laugh you will ever hear, and I finally got to hear it in person.”
He continued,
“This man just lights up the room. He was so kind to me. We honestly couldn’t stop hugging each other.”
Hank explained that his parents tried to protect him and his brother from the acting business, as they had always referred to the hardships they experienced. They loved their careers but knew working in the industry involved making tough sacrifices.
Northrop added,
“I worshipped my dad. He was my hero, still to this day, and forever will be, so in the back of my mind I always thought, ‘I know they don’t want me to be an actor, but I want to follow in my dad’s footsteps.’
