Days of Our Lives spoilers confirm that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) revealed a major clue about who shot him while Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) had him under hypnosis.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Look No Further Than EJ’s Family For The Truth
While the suspect list was undoubtedly long and impressive, we think that the hints Days provided in the August 12th episode helped narrow it down to two possible culprits. Look no further than EJ’s own family.
EJ told Marlena, while he was under hypnosis, that he wanted “her” to put the gun down. Kristen DiMera (Stacey Haiduk) may have had the strongest motive to want EJ dead.
EJ either sent her mother, Rachel Blake (Roslyn Gentle), away somewhere or eliminated her altogether so that she couldn’t testify against him over the Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) kidnapping fiasco.
Kristen was furious with her brother for the callous way he disposed of her mother after the years Kristen believed she had died.
That said, when Kristen was a suspect, the Salem PD tested Kristen’s gun, which wasn’t a match for the bullet that shot EJ.
However, Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) left the gun with EJ before exiting the mansion. Johnny was there that night and threatened to pump lead into his father.
Yet, we all know Johnny isn’t guilty. The footage on the memory card was “conveniently” deleted right after Johnny points the gun at EJ.
EJ may have altered the evidence, but we know Johnny didn’t pull the trigger. Granted, Johnny was horrified to learn that he was conceived when his father, EJ, raped his mother, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeny).
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Johnny Couldn’t Go Through With Killing His Father
In the end, Johnny couldn’t go through with the crime. Ten-year-old Rachel Black (Alice Halsey) saw what went down between Johnny and EJ.
Taking a shower is a pretty weak alibi. Kristen claimed that’s what she was doing the night the shooting took place. We suspect that at this point, either Rachel saw her mom shoot EJ, or little Rachel was the one who pulled the trigger.
The interaction between Kristen and Rachel at the Brady Pub made us wonder if maybe it was Kristen. Plus, when EJ and Marlena spoke, he claimed the perpetrator was a woman.
However, we’ve had a feeling since the storyline started that Rachel shot her uncle. She knew her mom was heartbroken over her grandmom’s disappearance. She knew EJ was the reason she wasn’t around anymore.
Rachel could have grabbed the weapon Johnny left behind and put a bullet in EJ’s chest. The little girl was also terrified that her testimony would send EJ to prison.
In the past few months, Rachel has suffered severe trauma over the night in question. She’s had tummy aches, panic attacks, and crying spells.
‘Days Of Our Lives’ Spoilers: EJ May Have Repressed The Memory Of His Niece Shooting Him
The fact that EJ still isn’t able to remember who shot him is another red flag. Maybe he doesn’t want to remember because it was his own niece who tried to kill him.
In the Days summer promo, it showed Belle Black (Martha Madison) asking Marlena if she knew who shot EJ. The uncomfortable look on her face spoke volumes.
It would make sense for Marlena to be torn over her two grandchildren and want to try to protect little Rachel from being taken away by Child Protective Services.
Kristen and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) have feared they would lose Rachel to CPS. Plus, Marlena also doesn’t want to see Johnny go to prison. It would be a very soapy scenario with endless possibilities.
Not to mention, EJ created enough doubt in the jury’s mind regarding Johnny’s guilt. Rachel almost looked like she had been caught red-handed.
We predict that if Kristen realizes the truth that Rachel tried to kill EJ, she’ll confess to the crime to protect her young daughter.
If Rachel truly did this, it’s a very dark secret for a ten-year-old child to keep. Sadly, it’s a secret that could easily ruin her life.
