Since moving to Peacock full time and becoming one of the streaming service’s top shows, ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) Spoilers have pushed the boundaries on a few things a lack of budget prevented since the 1980s.
While they’ve been inching toward doing more here and there, they’re still walking the line to be consistent with what long time fans appreciate. Or trying to.
There is one area where they could push the envelope and it’s something fans would enjoy seeing — Alex Kiriakis meets Ben Weston (both played by Robert Scott Wilson).

What’s curious about this idea is it’s something we don’t get to see on soap operas too often.
Sure, we get twins or look a likes, but rarely two completely separate characters that aren’t tied to each other in any way.
It’d be a pretty good angle to explore, and since they’re related it’d make dinner at the Kiriakis mansion all the more interesting.
It’s a topic Robert Scott Wilson talked about in an interview with Soap Opera News:
“I have mentioned this a few times. I would love for Ben and Alex to meet and have a storyline. I welcome the challenge and selfishly would love for me to be able to stretch myself playing dual roles.”

Of course, the trick is to bring Ben back to Salem, and the best way to do that and give the fans a little extra is to have Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) wake up and return. The actor has said he’s ready and willing to come back, so it’s just up to the writers.
This would also bring Ben and Ciara Brady (Victoria Konefal) back for a time, and it’d give Alex and Ben a chance to meet.
Alex would be wary of Ben thanks to his past and reputation, and it would be rocky between them.
As Robert mentioned above, it’d also give him the chance to stretch his abilities to play both roles.
One of the biggest problems wouldn’t really be with the actor as much as the scene coordinator and others that are responsible for setting things up and making sure everything is seamless like where everyone’s standing, what’s happening in the scene, and to make sure the wardrobe is right.
It’ll be interesting to see if the show does this or if it’ll remain a dream for fans.
