‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers say that just like the other three major network soaps, have seen their filming and production schedules upended because of the global pandemic that has been the coronavirus.
Not only was production suspended for several long months earlier this year, but now it seems like there is a constant eruption in filming because of possible Covid-19 cases on set. This, of course, is prompting a lot of fans to wonder: will DOOL ever get back to its original production schedule of filming six months in advance? Here’s what you need to know.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Can the NBC Soap Ever Go Back To It’s Original Filming Schedule?
Unlike ‘Young and the Restless’, ‘Bold and the Beautiful’, and ‘General Hospital’, ‘Days of Our Lives’ was not as impacted by the shutdown because they had enough new episodes and material to run until at least the beginning of October. DOOL went back into production on September 1 and since then, the cast and crew have been grinding out material in order to make sure they can keep airing new material without any interruptions in programming.

According to Soap Opera Digest though, production was suspended earlier this month after a positive Covid-19 case was diagnosed, leading to a brief shutdown. While the producers of the hit NBC soap have not said anything, actress Lauren Koslow (Kate Roberts) was the first to post a photo on her Instagram of herself posing in her dressing room.
Thankfully, reports confirm that the delay in filming will not affect any of the originally scheduled air dates of episodes that were already filmed. But with that said, can the cast and crew manage to get things back to the way they were before by producing enough episodes to last them for half a year, should another shutdown happen?
