Friends alum Courteney Cox has not seen her boyfriend, musician Johnny McDaid in over 133 days, and it’s all because of the coronavirus lockdown. Before the global pandemic began making waves in mid-March, Johnny was in Switzerland before heading to London.

There ended up having to shelter-in-place because of the strict quarantine measures that were put in place to help curb the spread of the virus. Courteney, meanwhile, has been in Los Angeles, this entire time. Here’s what you need to know.

Because of the current travel restrictions in place, Johnny can’t visit Courteney in Los Angeles and the actress can’t visit him in London. The couple have not seen each other in several months and to put it bluntly, Courteney says the situation definitely sucks.

“It’s been 133 days since we were last together,” the former “Friends” star wrote. “Covid sucks. Happy Birthday J.” She added: “I loved our lunch/dinner (LA/London time) zoom date today. I miss you madly.”

During a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Courteney admitted that the two of them are FaceTiming a lot, but it just isn’t the same as the two of them being together.

“He was supposed to go to Switzerland to write, and instead, he had to go to England first and then, all of the sudden … they called quarantine,” the actress said. “I have not seen him in so long.”

She continued: “We spend a lot of time on FaceTime, but now, it’s like ‘Oh my God,’ I just miss his physical touch, just all of it. It’s been hard, this is the longest time.”

Courteney and Johnny first met in 2013 and became engaged in 2014. They’ve since ended their engagement but are still in a relationship.
