‘Counting On’ Spoilers finds that the Duggar family, like the Plath family, often bragged about their children’s lack of access to outside media sources. However, now that Josh Duggar has been arrested, we’re getting hints that this may not have been so true after all.
Youtuber “I pray you put this journal away” has an entire three part podcast on growing up in the same cult as the Duggars and even said that he was close friends with Josh Duggar at one time. For someone with no technology, Josh was sure having some interesting conversations with this one person in 2006, and this is especially interesting considering how he thought he was hiding things from everyone on his work computer.

Back in 2006, he was having conversations with this guy about linux, which is the operating system he used to get around the covenant eyes app. He made a linux partition on his computer, specifically so that he could download these kinds of images. The conversations that he was having with this particular youtuber was about cyber security, they wanted to know how to block certain websites so that they wouldn’t stumble.
However Josh went into a pretty complicated explanation about how to set up linux for windows, and even ubuntu operating system, which can be loaded onto a thumb drive and stuck into a computer if you don’t want to use the actual operating system to check your email and stuff at work.

However according to the Duggars their children had no knowledge of these things. Apparently Josh was smuggling and building whole computers at the Duggar compound without JimBob or Michelle’s knowledge.
But maybe they did have knowledge and just didn’t say anything, maybe they just didn’t think that Josh would think about accessing porn on the internet, especially not child porn, after purging the “sinful sludge” from his heart.
(The whole ‘pond therapy’ fiasco) However it looks like Josh did know a fair amount about computers, books can only tell you so much, computer knowledge that is that extensive, especially back in 2006, had to be hands-on, especially if it were accurate, and from the looks of it, considering what the FBI raid says – it was pretty spot-on accurate.
