Josh Duggar’s family might be all about Christian values, but apparently they don’t apply much of what they preach. Or at least that’s what fans can’t help but notice as there’s a new report that says Josh Duggar acted anything but Christian-like in his real estate lawsuit. The TLC star was arrested by the feds in Arkansas on Thursday. Here’s what you need to know.
According to a new report, the plaintiff’s attorney in Josh Duggar’s real estate law suit claims that the case was handled unethically by him and his attorneys. Arkansas resident Carl Echols initially sued his own cousin, Edward L. Lewis, and 33-year-old Duggar’s company, ALB Investments LLC, in April 2019.

Apparently, Echols bought a plot of land for $17,500 but Josh Duggar bought it years later for $1,000 without his knowledge. Echols had been living on the property, taking care of it, and paying taxes while Josh Duggar supposedly owns it.
Josh was represented by two attorneys in the case after his first, Travis W. Story, was disqualified by a judge. Echols won the lawsuit, with the judge ordering on Sept. 30, 2020, that the plaintiff is the “fee simple owner of the property.” A title was then ordered and confirmed in Echols’ name.
Yet, Kesha Zaffino, who represented Echols in the case, says she’s not surprised that Josh Duggar was arrested on Thursday, given how he behaved during their court case.
“In person, he actually seems like a normal person, but as I saw this case progress, the tactics they used were very, very unethical and definitely not Christianlike,” she told Fox News in an interview.
Kesha also says that it’s not a surprise to her that Josh Duggar has now found himself in another legal issue.
“It’s so ironic that the family promotes themselves as Christians, but this is the most unchristian thing you can possibly do. Maybe they bought land from someone who had no right to sell it, and even if for the sake of argument he did, my client is the rightful owner by adverse possession,” she said.
So far both Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar have made no comments about their son’s arrest.
