Now she has a copy of Counting The Cost in her hands and she wanted to let her fans know what was on her mind.
Duggar Family News: Jill Opens Up
Jill took to Instagram this week to tell her fans about her book. She shared a picture of herself holding a printed copy and captioned it, “Things got real when I printed off the manuscript for my book, Counting The Cost. It was now one step closer to being out there. I cried and prayed over it. It’s been an emotional journey and one that wasn’t easy for me to write about. I hauled it around in the plastic baggie for a while making final edits. My book releases Sept 12th!”
She added pre-order links that her fans could take advantage of.
As soon as her fans saw this post, they were ready to share with her their stories and comments as well. One wrote, “Thank you for being willing to share your story so that others know they aren’t alone.” Jill replied to that fan, “Thanks. Hoping people will find courage through knowing they aren’t alone.”
Another added, “You’re courageous, and I love how you still honored your parents and the hard work they’ve put into raising you even as you bravely spoke out. And I love that you set the record straight instead of letting others swoop in like vultures and exaggerate or profit off of it. And as a fellow survivor of childhood sexual abuse, I have to salute you for sharing a story that is far too familiar to many and helping us heal collectively.”
It turns out that Jill’s fans all love the fact that she was brave enough to share her story and isn’t backing down to the haters. After she appeared on Amazon’s Shiny, Happy People, she has gotten a lot of backlash for standing up to the IBLP and her family.
Jill was one of the young girls that were sexually molested by her older brother, Josh Duggar, when he was a teenager. Their parents swept it under the rug saying that he was just a teenage boy interested in learning about girls. This incident was only one that shaped her life and there are more that will be featured in her book.
