Coronation Street spoilers have revealed that the pressure that Steve McDonald has been feeling over the past couple of months is going to boil over in future scenes. Steve has been under a lot of stress this past year as he is still getting to grips with the illness that Oliver Battersby has.
Steve has been the level headed one out of the parents, as he has urged Leanee Battersby to remain realistic about Oliver’s chances of survival. However, that calming influence that he has had on Leanne could be tested next week, as his stress boils over as he makes an order at Roy’s Rolls.
Coronation Street Spoilers: Steve Unleashes On Nina
It isn’t hard to see why Steve has been worrying over the last couple of months, as his son has been diagnosed with the incurable mitochondrial disease. Leanne and Steve have been doing their best to get to grips with the shocking news, and Steve has also suggested that they go away from a mini-break as a family together. Steve’s calmness has been an important factor for Leanne, but that could be in doubt following an outburst.
The outburst will come after Nina Lucas reveals that the café is having a vegetarian day. That will throw a spanner into Steve’s breakfast plans as he was hoping to get a sausage sandwich to kickstart his day. He will be outraged by the idea and storm out of the café immediately.
Coronation Street Spoilers: Steve Returns To The Café
Later in the episode, Steve will return to the café to berate Nina about the idea, before then throwing a pack of sausages on the counter and demanding that she cooks them for her. However, Nina is never one to stand down from an argument and may instead seek to find out what Steve is really upset about.
There could also be additional pressure on Leanne next week, as Toyah Battersby and Imran Habeeb press ahead with their plans to become foster parents. In order to complete their application, they will need a reference from Leanne.
But, could their determination to foster come at a bad time for Leanne as she is already under a great deal of stress? She has already admitted that she will help, but it will get a lot more real next week.
