ITV ‘Coronation Street’ spoilers have revealed that David Platt will be left stunned over the next couple of weeks as Shona Platt makes her long-awaited return to Weatherfield. Viewers will remember that Shona has been missing from the Platt household for the past couple of months after having to stay in Leeds due to brain injuries that she sustained after being shot by Derek Milligan on Christmas Day.
Viewers were left shocked after Shona’s condition worsened in the space of a day. To begin with she knew exactly who David was, but that was just short-lived as her memories began to fade. David worked tirelessly to try and figure out a way to jog her memory and that also included him bringing his children to see her. However, he was left stunned when she mistook David’s son for Clayton.

Fans were already aware that Shona’s return was on the cards, as she featured in the May trailer as she spoke to Gail in the house. Viewers are hoping that her memory is back to normal, as David is continuing to spiral over recent weeks. David continues to get himself into trouble, and risked the wrath of some drug dealers last week.
Shona’s return could come at the right time to help David, but could he be dismayed when she still doesn’t know who he is? It has already been revealed by bosses at the soap that there will be a happy ending to this story, as it was revealed that their relationship is strong enough to overcome any challenge put in front of them.

Clayton will worm his way back into Shona’s life over the coming scenes, as she remembers that she has a son. Her care worker will go with her to see him, but warns her that he will be older than she remembers. Shona will be completely different from the character that fans remember, as she will n longer be her energetic old self.
Viewers will be aware that there was a part of May’s trailer that shows Shona running out of prison. It is unclear at this moment why she is running away, as she could be told about what he did in the past to end up behind bars. However, Shona could run out of the prison instead after realising that he is older than she remembers. Viewers will have to stay tuned to see how it plays out.
