ITV ‘Coronation Street’ spoilers have revealed that there is set to be emotional scenes over the coming weeks as Oliver Battersby has been admitted to hospital for the second time in as many months. Viewers were left stunned at the ending to Monday’s show, as Leanne screamed for Steve McDonald as she found Oliver lying on the floor. They immediately called the ambulance, before Steve admitted that he had stopped breathing.
Viewers will remember that this isn’t the first time that the son has collapsed as he did last month. Steve felt the full force of Leanne on that occasion, as she blamed him for leaving Oliver with summer while he spoke to Emma Brooker. The relationship between mother and father seemed to improve in last night’s episode as Steve managed to get Oliver an interview with a private school.
ITV ‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers: Sign Of Hope At The Beginning Of The Episode
Fans thought that Oliver’s health problems were a sign of the past, with Steve and Leanne even patching up their differences as they took him to an interview at a private school. Steve was forced to go to the interview with make-up on his face after Oliver drew a moustache on him. However, the interview seemed to have gone well, as Leanne and Steve began to think about the future.
Just as things seemed to be going well, Leanne screamed after finding Oliver in a heap on the floor. Both parents were immediately stunned, and called the emergency services. The episode ended with Steve asking numerous times whether the son would be okay. The storyline is set to delve deeper in Wednesday’s episode.
ITV ‘Coronation Street’ Spoilers: Leanne Looks For Confidence By Speaking To Toyah
Spoilers for next week’s episode have already revealed that Leanne will speak to Toyah Battersby about her son. She will be looking for some emotional support to get her through the ordeal. The two sisters will have their deep conversation as the parents await the test results.
However, fans shouldn’t be expecting happy news from the diagnosis, as it has already been revealed that Oliver will have mitochondrial disease. The life-limiting condition is expected to be one of the hardest hitting storylines of the year. But, Steve will remain optimistic that there will be a happy ending for them as he reveals that many people lead normal lives. Viewers will have to stay tuned to see how it plays out.
