Coronation Street spoilers have revealed that there could be a tricky couple of weeks for Leanne Battersby. The pressure that the mother is under can be seen by everyone that watches the soap, as she is struggling to come to terms that her youngest son may not be able to fight back against mitochondrial disease.
Leanne is in a state of denial at present, as she refuses to believe that her son won’t make a full recovery from the shock illness that has been discovered. However, those closest to her have all reminded her to remain level-headed regarding Oliver’s chances. Leanne hasn’t really taken their comments on board, and next week she will snap at Simon Barlow.
Coronation Street Spoilers: Leanne Drives Simon Away
Viewers will be aware that Simon has been stuck in the middle of this storyline as he has been trying to stay strong for his younger brother. However, he will be stunned to his core next week after Leanne reveals in a conversation with Steve McDonald that she will be completely lost should Oliver die as the young boy is everything that he ever wanted.
Simon will be secretly listening to the conversation as he wants to know what is going on with his brother. However, Leanne’s comments lead to him questioning his place in the family as he heads off to complete at an exam at school. But, could Simon be able to run away from Weatherfield as he is feeling unwanted by his mother?
Coronation Street Spoilers: What Will Simon Do?
Viewers will be aware that Simon is a bit of a hot-head, and overhearing his mother talking about his younger brother as though he didn’t exist may be a bridge too far. Leanne and Simon endured a rocky relationship at first, but it has seemed as though that relationship has been repaired as they have bonded over the past couple of years.
There have been some spoilers that have indicated that the schoolchild could be about to run away from home, in what would be another heartbreaking twist for Leanne. However, it is revealed later in the episode that Simon has decided to move in with Peter Barlow as Leanne is told that he overheard what he said. But, will they be able to move past this?
