Cilla Battersby-Brown hasn’t been seen in Weatherfield since 2014, but rumours have emerged indicating that the dramatic character could be set to make a stunning return over the coming weeks.
The return of Cilla would certainly shock Chesney, and that could ultimately seal his exit away from Weatherfield. Their relationship has never been a perfect one and her return could cause distress for Chesney and force him to leave the area for good. A return of one of the most dramatic soap actresses has been on the cards for a number of years now.

The actress that plays Cilla, Wendi Peters recently told The Sun that she would be open for a return to the soap should the storyline be right. It wouldn’t be a huge shock for her to make a return as she has constantly been referenced on the soap, with many characters talking about her over the past year.
She last appeared in the soap six years ago, and her return would cause trouble for a host of characters. Chesney would be stunned to see her return, while Fiz Brown and Gemma Winters would also likely be affected. Viewers would certainly be intrigued to see how Cilla and Bernie would get along, with both characters having a reputation as being dramatic.

A return for Cilla would certainly be stunning, and it could drive Chesney away. However, the Corrie legend would only likely leave Weatherfield should Gemma and the quads leave with him.
