CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ star Beth Maitland is opening up about her long and very successful career and journey on the hit CBS soap. The actress, who is best known for her role as Traci Abbott, says that she has taken the opportunity to get to know not only the cast and crew but many of her fans, too!
“I am in my 38th year on the show, and I have fans who have watched me since the first day and still communicate with me through social media,” she said in a new interview with CBS Soaps in Depth. “I’ve gotten to know them a little bit over the years and the miles. And their gift to me is as great as they say my gift to them has been!”

And while Traci Abbott has definitely had her fair share of ups and downs over the years, Beth says that she has always been a character that she can relate to. That’s not just because she portrays her on the small screen, but also because she has so much in common with Traci as well.
Beth continued, “I haven’t been through Traci’s struggles exactly, but I have found that life certainly hands out things that you don’t expect. It’s not easy for anyone, and the people that it has been easy for [at first] usually at my age find themselves in a jam because they haven’t come to terms with so many things. So, judgment can’t be a factor in our lives or in my portrayal of Traci. Judgment shuts down people, and Traci’s purpose is to keep everyone open and thinking.”
