CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers update here with a fun throwback spoiler we’re chomping at the bit to watch. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is one of the hardest people on daytime television to kill, and he does it without the help of a mad scientist or aliens. He’s made of sterner stuff that his enemies have long grown used to having to deal with. And this is one of his return episodes and it’s going to be glorious.

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Throwback For May 12: Victor Returns from the Dead

As we mentioned above, it’s beyond hard to eliminate Victor no matter what someone throws at him, and it’s added to his mystique over the decades. This gem is from October 1, 1993 when Victor escaped death in a car crash.

This marked the first time he came back from the “dead” to prove himself more flexible than a cockroach (we mean that in a good way), and it rocked everyone in Genoa City when he returned to the city in an iconic move to end iconic moves. While his appearance alone would be enough to shock most into submission, his actions following his return are what helped establish him as a legend on daytime television and made his rivalries the ones to watch.

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Throwback For May 12: It may have been the first, but not the last

Staying alive can be habit forming, and it’s one Victor has shown he’s not willing to give up over the years. While his streak started with this episode, it soon proved to be repeatable as he’d been shipwrecked in Mexico in 2008 and believed to be dead. Of course, he pulled a surprise revival and sent his rivals to their alcohol bottles.

Then there was the close call in 2012, and the one in December of 2019 that proved even as an old man he was more than capable than some of the younger bucks strutting around his city. While his reputation has increased over the years, it’s his toughness and determination that’s really to thank for this as it’s allowed him to push through so many tough times and opposition that would’ve floored most people.

In this, CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers feels he’s earned the top spot on daytime or prime time television. Tricks like coming back from the dead have become the norm in soap operas, but his were done in more realistic ways than we usually seen. Still, there’s a lot to be said for having the constitution of a vending machine. What was your favorite Victor return?
