Traci is the daughter of John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) and Dina Abbott (Marla Adams) – who is currently ill in Genoa City. Traci is a sister to Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). She has officially returned back to Genoa City – presumably due to her mother’s illness.
Traci Abbott has been known as kind, sensitive and insecure throughout her years in Genoa City. She has had several marriages, including her two marriages to Brad Carlton (Don Diamont) and her marriage to Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian).

Her marriage to Brad resulted in her pregnancy and birth of daughter Colleen Carlton (Lyndsy Fonseca), who unfortunately past away after drowning and being declared braindead. Traci has been a staple to Genoa City over the years, despite her brief exists. Her warm heart and rock-like character has provided comfort for her family, and Y&R fans can assume that Traci will return to Genoa City to provide comfort during Dina’s time of despair.

Traci is best known in Genoa for her career as a singer and novelist, though she has briefly taken positions in Genoa City’s infamous cosmetics companies. In 2019, Traci authored another book about Cane Ashby’s (Daniel Goddard) life in Genoa City. Traci played a mediator in Cane’s relationship with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil).
Over the years, Maitland has played the part of Traci Abbott very well. In 1985, she won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
