CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers say that even though the entire Newman family has their claws out for Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), that’s not stopping Nick Newman(Joshua Morrow) form pursuing a new romantic relationship with the controversial brunette. Here’s what you need to know.
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, actor Joshua Morrow, who plays Nick Newman on the hit CBS soap, understands that it’s going to take a lot for the Newman family to ever reconcile their feelings for Phyllis Summers, let alone accept the fact that Nick and Phyllis are back together again. After all, Victor, Nikki, and Victoria absolutely hate Phyllis. What’s more, Phyllis also has a lot of animosity going on with Abby Newman, too. To put it simply, Phyllis has become persona non grata over at the Newman Ranch, which will make it very hard for anyone to take ‘Phick’ seriously.

The actor said, “Yeah, it’s not a good look from the Newman family. I don’t think Nick is considering it because he doesn’t give a crap what people think about him. But yeah, everyone in the Newman family is against this woman yet Nick still wants to be with her. He’s like, ‘Listen, we are going to be together, then let’s do it and to hell with what people think.’”
The actor added, “But I think Phyllis is being a little more cognizant of those outside elements. It’s not going to last forever based on their history and what they have going against them. It’s just not. But Nick and Phyllis don’t want to hear that. I don’t think Nick is saying, ‘Hey, let’s grow old and die together.’ It’s more, ‘This is the way I feel and I’m tired of ignoring it.’”
