Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, ‘Young and the Restless’ executive producer and head writer Josh Griffith says that for those who were hoping to see things work between Kyle and Summer along with Theo and Lola, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon. Because if there is one thing that we’ve learned about all of these characters in Genoa City, it’s that you can never truly trust someone, right?

Teasing what’s ahead, Griffith tells the publication, “Summer puts the brakes on her relationship with Kyle until he truly finds closure with Lola. This forces Kyle and Lola to have the painful conversation about divorce. Luckily for Lola, Theo is waiting in the wings – but does he have an ulterior motive?”

That of course is a question that ‘Young and the Restless’ viewers are asking themselves. While there’s no doubt that Summer Newman is the kind of woman who can navigate just about any kind of situation, the same can’t be said about Lola Rosales. It seems as though she goes from one bad relationship to the next. Seeing what kind of manipulative person Theo is, a future with him doesn’t sound as promising, either. Of course, fans will have to tune in to find out what happens next!
