CBS The Young and the Restless (Y&R) Spoilers have become so used to seeing and expecting the worst case scenarios in our favorite shows that it’s hard to expect anything to work out or for a touching moment to happen. The descriptions for each show is also vague and worded to cause us to turn it on and expect something different than what sometimes happens.

On Wednesday’s (March 4) episode, we were teased that Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) was returning to Genoa City for some unfinished business. This led to wide speculation for us at CBS The Young and the Restless Spoilers and elsewhere that it meant she was going to torment her brother, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and possibly push for Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) to receive a promotion at Jabot. Instead, we were thrown a curve ball where she had returned during her trip home to meet with Jack.

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Dina’s failing health and visit

This week, Jack has been dealing with the tragic news that his mother, Dina Abbott (Marla Adams), was nearing the end of her struggle. A sufferer of Alzheimer’s, the disease slowly spread and took away more of her memories and personalities.

Jack has been a rock through the ordeal, but having his sister arrive seemed to lighten the burden. With the ice storm raging outside, they had a chance to sit and talk without the constant rush of life sweeping them away. Eventually, they talked about their mother, Dina, and what she was going through. As the night went on and they separated, Dina visited them individually.

When she met with Jack, she coaxed his fears about not being able to protect her from what’s happening to her memory and personality. She told him to look to John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) for strength and guidance, and that he would make it through this because “you’re my son.” He turned away when Ashley entered the room, and when he turned back Dina was gone.

Later when Ashley was in the office alone, Dina appeared in the doorway. She and Ashley had a heart to heart talk like Dina had with Jack. And like with Jack, both slates were wiped clean. Dina also urged her to lean on Jack and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) in difficult times.

CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Dina’s goodbye

This is where things get interesting for us at CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers. While Dina appearing and disappearing could be chalked up to Ashley and Jack’s anxiety over her condition, we’re thinking that she died shortly before her first visit.

It’s something we’ve heard a lot about that people see, hear, or receive some kind of message when a loved one dies no matter where they are, and it’s been used many times in television shows and movies. It’s a great way for characters to gain closure without knowing they’re doing so. The way they ended the episode with both of them saying how it felt like she was there was telling.

It won’t surprise us if they find out in the next episode or two that she passed away the night of the ice storm. For any other soap opera and entertainment news, please visit Daily Soap Dish. For more royal and celeb baby news, come back to Celeb Baby Laundry.
