CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoiler finds that after the coronavirus pandemic has hit North America in full swing, many communities are going on lockdown. Just as we thought we would put our feet up and catch up on our favorite soaps, it was released that production will come to a staggering halt.

Fox News recently released that production ‘The Bold and The Beautiful’ and ‘The Young and The Restless’ will be temporarily ceased. As of right now, production stops on Tuesday, March 17th. Producers have announced that they plan to go on break for two weeks. It can be assumed that at that point, the team will reconvene and determine whether filming can begin or not.

There is a long list of television shows that have stopped since Covid-19 such as “The Amazing Race”, “Survivor”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Grace and Frankie”, “Chicago Fire”, “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “Riverdale” – among many others.

Of course, everyone’s safety is of utmost priority right now. While we will miss our favorite soap stars, it’s relieving to know that all of the actors and actresses will be safe in quarantine. Unfortunately, the news puts a wrench in our social distancing time. If you want some soap activity, consider sharing some support and love to your favorite Y&R actors on social media! What are your plans during your self-imposed isolation? Will you catch soap opera reruns, or will you be catching as much Netflix as possible? If you’re in the mood for books, consider reading some of our favorite ‘Young and the Restless’ biography books:

    • I’ll Be Damned – Eric Braeden (Victor Newman, Y&R)
    • Not Young, Still Restless – Jeanne Cooper (Katherine Chancellor, Y&R)
    • Secrets of a Soap Opera Diva – Victoria Rowell (Drucilla Winters, Y&R)
    • The Young and the Ruthless – Victoria Rowell (Drucilla Winters, Y&R)
    • Death in Daytime – Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott, Y&R)
