CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that it’s time watching Y&R and we’ve often wondered why Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) doesn’t seem to last in business interests.
First, it was his dream to be part of Newman Enterprises, but that quickly faded. He wanted to be his own person and not live in his father, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)’s, shadow. So, he broke away and started Dark Horse and was quickly expected to become a major power in the business world.

But then he had another change of heart and switched to philanthropic endeavors with New Hope Foundation. For us, it looked like he couldn’t make up his mind on what to do and be as different from his father as possible. While Victor relied on his business to build his empire, Nick wanted to help people and give back to the same community his father took from before giving something back. It makes sense, especially when we consider many don’t know what they want to do with their lives for years, if ever. We settle into roles we hate simply because we need to eat and have a roof over our heads. Eventually, we strive to make more so we can have more. But then few are born to a billionaire and the contacts Nick has developed over the years.

CBS The Young and the Restless Spoilers found a cool interview where actor Joshua Morrow shared his thoughts with CBS Soaps in Depth.
“For some reason (the powers that be) do not like seeing me in a business capacity. They sometimes flirt with the idea, and then take it away. I’m like, ‘Am I doing something wrong?’ I wish Nick were more involved in the family business, but on the other hand, what I do love about the character is that he does things on his own terms.”
Joshua provides a cool perspective on what he’d like his character to do while comparing it to what his character would actually do. If nothing else, it’d be fun to peak into his brain when he’s having one of these conversations with himself. We always hear how important it is for an actor to understand their character, and this gives us an idea to why Nick Newman has been so popular over the years and why there appears to be no end in sight for his run.
