CBS ‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) did something decent! No, I don’t mean the fact that she slept with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow). It’s what she said before and after that was good. It began with Phyllis telling Nick how good of a man and father he was. Started boosting his confidence, making him feel pretty good. However, what she said the next morning was even better! Phyllis helped convince Nick to accept Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) offer and run Newman Enterprises. Kudos to Phyllis!

Since Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) had been hospitalized from her stab wound, Victor has been trying to find a temporary replacement for the CEO position. Originally, Nick wanted nothing to do with it. He believed there were plenty of qualified people at the company already who could run it. However, Victor wanted only a Newman to run it. This left Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) as the only willing applicant with the Newman name. Of course, Victor would have a hard time letting Adam take the role.

We weren’t sure if Victor would even tell Adam yes, however it looked like Victor was in a bind and wouldn’t have a choice. However, Phyllis helped put it in perspective for Nick, who was Victor’s first option. Not only did she tell him he was equipped for the job and could do it, but could he really see Adam running the company?

She tells him that there’s a part of her that would love to see Adam run and destroy what his father built, but it would hurt a lot of people. Including people, he cared about, like Victoria. There’s no way Adam would give up his power quietly back to Victoria when she returned. While Victor sat and talked with Adam, he received a phone call from Nick saying he’ll take the job. This, of course, left Adam furious. What do you think? Were you happy to see Nick step up or did you want to see Adam step in? Let us know in the comments below.
