CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that star Melody Thomas Scott previews her new book, Always Young and Restless and some of the challenges she’s had to overcome in her life. Here’s what she has to say!
Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the beautiful blonde admitted that the book is not only about her childhood experiences, but also her life on the set of ‘Young and the Restless’. She says that if it weren’t for Y&R, Melody would not have met her husband or had her children and that she is eternally grateful for the late co-creators Bill and Lee Bell for entrusting her to play Nikki Newman all of these years.

Now, as far as her family is concerned, Melody did say that she showed her book to everyone before it got published. She told the publication, “Yes, I had the whole family read the more sensitive chapters in advance so that if any of them were uncomfortable with me revealing certain things, I would have, of course, honored their request. As hard as it was for them to read certain passages, they were unanimous in my decision to include them.”
When asked what she hopes readers will take away from her story, Melody explained, “First of all, I’d like them to discover that there is always hope. I would also love for them to feel encouragement and know that everyone can emerge from the darkness to the light.
Happiness is possible for all of us. It takes longer for some of us than for others, we just need to stay determined. And focused. Happiness is worth fighting for. I am rooting for them.”
