    CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that 2020 has been a year of worldwide change and accountability. First, a global pandemic changed the face of the world. Secondly, the black lives matter movement shed light on systemic racism.

    Now, human trafficking has come to the forefront. 2020 has been a painful, eye opening, and necessary year in several ways. With sex trafficking on people’s minds, Melissa Ordway, who plays Abby Newman, took to Instagram to share her thoughts.

    “Every 30 seconds a child is sold for sex, labor or organ harvesting. Most can’t even think about it, let alone talk about it. It’s too much to comprehend. However, the alternative to staying silent is more children like yours, mine, our friends and family, falling victim to this terrible reality.

    July 30th is World Day Against Human Trafficking. Join us as we raise awareness on behalf of these children whose voices have been silenced. If you want to learn and do more please swipe [on the post below] to read how you can help right now, Share and follow along.

    The caption fell on a photo of Melissa with graphics saying, “Speak Up July 30thWorld Day Against Human Trafficking. Wear Blue. Rescue”

    The third slide offered “Fast Facts” including: The average age of a teen enters the sex trade in the US is 12-14-years old and 34% of people who sexually abuse a child are family members. We are so grateful to see Melissa use her platform for good and to make a change.
