CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicate that fans certainly have a reason to be excited! That’s because there are new reports that say actress Judith Chapman will be returning to the hit CBS soap to play Michael and Kevin’s melodramatic mother, Gloria. Judith has been reprising the role since 2005. Here’s what you need to know.
According to Soap Opera Digest, Gloria is back and from what we can tell already, she’s better than ever before. Back in June, the actress did hint that she was open to coming back to ‘The Young and the Restless’.

She said back then, “I thought I would finish my theatrical, film, television career at Y&R. So when they phased me out the first time, it was gut-wrenching, and then, when I went back, it was great and then they started phasing me out again. So would I say, ‘Yeah? Burn me once, twice, what the hell?’ Yeah, I’m back, because it’s a great job and it’s an American iconic storytelling venue and yes, we do need to stay on the air, we do.”
The last time that fans saw Gloria in Genoa City was back in 2018. She also had a short stint at ‘Days of our Lives’ as John’s ex-lover, Diana. While in Salem, she reunited with her Y&R son, Greg Rikaart, who played Diana’s son Leo at the time. As many fans can recall, in addition to her roles on ‘The Young and the Restless’ and ‘Days of Our Lives’, she first joined As The World Turns as Natalie back in 1975.
