CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that legendary actress Judith Chapman (Gloria Abbott Baldwin) is ready to get back to work, just like the rest of us. The daytime television actress recently opened up in a new interview about her soap past, her ‘gut wrenching’ exit from ‘Young and the Restless’ and why soaps are a very important and vital part of television storytelling. Here’s what she has to say.
In a new interview with General Hospital star Tristan Rogers’ YouTube series 6 Blocks Apart, Judith opened up about her career. When asked which soaps she has been on, Judith said quite simply that it would be easier to name the ones that she hasn’t been on yet.
As many fans can recall, in addition to her roles on The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives, she first joined As The World Turns as Natalie back in 1975.

Judith then went on to play Sandra Motaigne on One Life to Live and Charlotte Greer Ryan on Ryan’s Hope. And while Judith has certainly had one very successful and long career, her fans can’t help but ask when she will be back on daytime television again, and particularly if and when she will return to The Young and the Restless.
While there have always been rumors about a possible comeback, Judith did tell Tristan, “I thought I would finish my theatrical, film, television career at Y&R. So when they phased me out the first time, it was gut-wrenching, and then, when I went back, it was great and then they started phasing me out again. So would I say, ‘Yeah? Burn me once, twice, what the hell?’ Yeah, I’m back, because it’s a great job and it’s an American iconic storytelling venue and yes, we do need to stay on the air, we do.”
So far producers of ‘Young and the Restless’ have made no comments about if and when they plan on bringing Judith Chapman back, but that hasn’t stopped fans from hoping for the best and of course, crossing their fingers! Watch this space as we have a feeling that Judith’s time in Genoa City – and Salem for that matter – isn’t over yet.
