CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that star Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) says that he wants Daniel Goddard (Cane Ashby) back on the show, but it looks like not everyone agrees this would be a good decision. Here’s what you need to know.
If there’s anything that we’ve learned about Eric Braeden over the years, it’s that he’s not afraid to voice his opinions or concerns on social media. Not only does he want Daniel Godard back, but he also believes that his ‘Young and the Restless’ co-star Doug Davidson (Paul Williams) should be getting more screen time as well. The actor wrote on Twitter, “Two good friends are no longer on the show, KRISTOFF, who passed away, and DANIEL GODDARD, who is a damned good actor and SHOULD BE WITH US!!! Miss them both, along with DOUGIE DAVIDSON, who isn’t on the show ENOUGH!!!”

It didn’t take very long for Daniel to respond to Eric’s tweet. He wrote, “My dear friend .@EBraeden I miss u & #YR so very, very much. My sincerest respect to u always.”
Fans, however, had a totally different reaction to this. Many of them have taken to social media to comment on the matter with, “I would love to have Paul back as we are watching the classic episodes WE WANT MORE OF PAUL but no Cane while Lily is back on Y&R. WE DONT WANT CANE BACK. Sorry Eric Braden,” along with, “I wouldn’t mind Doug back on contract, but only if Paul gets his old personality back. The character has been kind of insufferable for years now IMHO.”

Another fan wrote, “Definitely miss Doug! Paul should be as much of a staple on this show as Victor and Jack! It’s too bad that they killed off/got rid of all of his kids, as he doesn’t really have anyone of the show to help anchor him, though to me he doesn’t really need it, I’m just saying it would provide more storyline opportunities. I don’t care how they make it work, but they should definitely bring Ricky back, and get a more dynamic actress to play Heather.”
