CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers reveal that Daniel Romalotti has not experienced as much healing as he thought he had. The return of Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) and his daughter Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant) had made him realize how far he has to go.

Upon Romalotti’s return to Genoa City, he poured himself into developing a new gaming platform. Chancellor-Winters has agreed to fund his project and help him launch it. He designed it with his daughter Lucy in mind. She was his inspiration.
He felt that as he got the platform going, it was giving him a purpose and helping him heal. He had let past failures overcome him and had ruined his family. Heather and Lucy have been in Portugal and he has been trying to get to a point where he could earn their trust again.

When Heather and Lucy surprise Daniel by arriving in Genoa City, he feels thrown off guard. He was not ready yet for this reunion. His mother Phyllis Summer (Michelle Stafford) interfered and because of her trip to Portugal, Heather felt like it was time to confront Daniel. While he is not emotionally ready for this, he has to interact with them.
He is shocked and saddened to find out that Heather is in another relationship. Also, reconnecting with Lucy isn’t easy. She has been hurt and finds it difficult to trust him. Heather warns him that he can’t take it too fast.
He has to proceed slowly and cautiously to rebuild his relationship with Lucy or he could lose it forever. This makes him so sad and distraught that he questions what he has even been doing, working on this gaming platform. His friend, Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) has to talk him back from the edge.

Daniel does not seem to be very strong emotionally. He has invested in this platform to help him reach his goals, but as soon as those ends are challenged, he is ready to give up. To be there for Lucy as he should, he will need to be stronger. He will need to put her first.
