CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers finds that on Wednesday, July 29th, YR lovers were reminded about the heartbreaking 2005 moment where Cassie Newman, played by Camryn Grimes, took her last breaths following a tragic accident. The episode naturally stirred emotions back up, and the acting on this episode was phenomenal. What could possibly make the episode even better? Camryn Grimes live tweeting it 15 years later!
Thankfully, Camryn Grimes time on YR hasn’t ended after all of these years. She now plays Mariah Copeland, and it looks like she’s still very dedicated to the daytime soap opera. She took to her Twitter to give commentary on the episode.
CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Grimes Tweets Her YR Death
“It’s okay to cry, we’ll do it together. And also my grandma…she’ll def be crying.” “Three minutes in and my bf is already crying with open mouth and cold sweat #yr”
A fan @suzasak asked, “Out of all the stories that Cassie was involved in, does one stand out as your favorite?” Grimes responded, “Her death is obviously iconic but there was a storyline where she fell into an icy lake and went into a coma and that was super fun to film.
Grimes continued, “Also can we just acknowledge that Cassie died because of a crush? Learn from this, young ones. Poor Amelia, these were basically her first scenes as Victoria. Such a trooper, so talented.” Noted on the crush part, Camryn.
Another tweet read, “The writer who asked Josh to do a lullaby is also a sadist.” We appreciate Camryn’s humor in a time like this. And we agree.
Another YR viewer (@CynthiaJConway) asked, “What is your most vivid memory from Cassie’s death scene?” Grimes responded, “Everyone gathered on set to watch. It was impossible not to cry, if you look closely, you can see tears running down the side of my face.”
Thanks for staying all of these years, Camryn, and for watching your iconic scene live with us!
