CBS ‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers reveal Camryn Grimes had an interview with ‘Soaps In Depth’. In the interview, she remembers her late character, Cassie Newman, who was tragically killed in a car accident. Grimes has been portraying Mariah Copeland now, but lately has been pulling double duty. During her mother’s breast cancer battle, Cassie has shown up in Sharon Newman’s (Sharon Case) dreams. Meanwhile, her other daughter, Mariah (also played by Grimes) has been helping her through it all.
Since the appearance of Cassie in Sharon’s dreams, many people have been thinking about the character and her fateful night. Even the actress herself.

CBS ‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Actress Camryn Grimes Remembers Cassie Newman’s Tragic Death
According to Camryn Grimes on her character’s death, “I couldn’t get through that scene without crying! I was on the deathbed, trying to force my tears out and to not breathe because I was supposed to be dead! Of course, when they yelled cut, everybody on the set was clapping and crying. I’m 14 years old and sobbing. My parents were there and sobbing. I’m like, ‘I just want to go home!’ It was a sad, sad day. It was a tough day — the hardest scene I’ve ever had to do, hands down!”
Grimes also has a personal connection to the soap opera, telling us how happy she is to be apart of it. “I was honored to play Cassie from conception to death, and that’s something that is so rare in the soap opera world. I’ve always said, even if I won an Oscar tomorrow and Y&R was like, ‘Hey, do you want to come back?’ I would in a heartbeat! I feel so honored to be part of this show that I will always come back!”
