BTS' Record Label Sues Troll For Allegedly Spreading Misinformation About The Band

Big Hit Music, who happens to be the record label for BTS, has launched a lawsuit against trolls that have bashed the group.

BTS’ Record Label Sues Troll For Allegedly Spreading Misinformation About The Band

According to a report, the record label has decided to take action against what they perceive to be a troll that has been spreading misinformation concerning the group. Although the record label did not exactly open up about what was being said, it seems that this could be serious.

It is entirely understandable that they would not want to disclose anything since it is a legal matter and therefore anything said publicly could be used against them. But one thing that did materialise was the fact that the record label credited the fan’s hardcore fan base, that being the BTS Army, in bringing the troll to light.

In an official statement on behalf of the band by the label, a representative said the following: “We have recently filed additional criminal complaints against postings with personal attacks and defamation using new information provided by fans as well as collected through our monitoring initiatives.

“We have found multiple defamation postings containing false information about the artists.” It is not exactly clear why this troll would want to spread misinformation, but outside of an alternative explanation to the contrary, it could be due to the following reasons.

First of all, the troll would naturally be riding off the publicity generated. After all, BTS is one of the biggest boy bands in the world. Secondly, the chances of a person being sued for online trolling are slim unless there is a case of defamation involved.

But this time around, things look very serious indeed. The following comments confirmed as much: “We would also like to share with you that after an extended police investigation, we were able to identify the suspect and the case has been sent to the prosecutor’s office.”

Time will tell how it all plays out. So there you have it folks. What did you think about this? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
