In an explosive new claim in her autobiography, “Things I should have said” Jamie Lynn Spears, younger sister of Britney Spears claims that she had a fight all her own with her parents when she got pregnant at the age of 16.
She said that at one point her Dad stopped speaking to her and that her Mom, who “wore her disappointment like her favorite jacket”, according to her memoir, drove her to a remote cabin in the woods somewhere in the Northeast after taking away her smartphone.

Surprisingly, the Spears Family, who comes off as a bit conservative, at first recommended that she abort her daughter because she was just 16 and said that it would ruin her career.
She said that they really pushed the idea of abortion at first, and that she was told “there are pills you can take for this” and that they knew doctors who could perform simple procedures to “get rid of her problem” but the most surprising of all (or actually, not that surprising considering the culture of the southeast) is they recommended that she go to a home for unwed Mothers, Mercy Ministries, to have the baby and give it up for adoption.
Unlike the days of yesteryear in which this could totally happen and no one would ever know, they didn’t seem to account for the fatal flaw in their plan.
For one thing, this is the information age and this was the height of Jamie Lynn Spears’ career, people would have wondered where she was and why she suddenly took a trip to some “christian retreat”, she was not just the local prom queen, this was an international celebrity and things would have been found out one way or another.
It wasn’t long after this recommendation that Jamie Lynn said after agonizing over her decision that she had her legal counsel draw up the papers and serve her family with them, saying that her Dad was gone at the time, but her Mom received them.
No word on what that reaction was, but it will probably be covered in detail in her autobiography that comes out in January.
Jamie Lynn has been openly criticized for not being supportive of the #FreeBritney movement and you would think that after having such a battle with their parents and literally knowing how both her Mom and Dad are, that she would want Britney to be free of them, but perhaps, Jamie Lynn like the fact that while they were focusing on Britney, they couldn’t focus on her, Britney’s conservatorship was a perfect excuse for her to be free and live the life that she wanted because her parents got to control at least one sibling.
Ultimately, Jamie Lynn Spears decided against filing for emancipation, but it isn’t exactly stated how she got to live her life and Britney didn’t. We’ll see. Stay tuned!!!
