Britney Spears has not been shy about sharing the struggles she dealt with while under the conservatorship. In fact, she released a now-deleted 20-minute audio addressing some of the things she’s already said on Instagram. Following the release of her son, Jayden James Federline’s, interview for a documentary, she had some things to say in a social media post. Now, she’s released an audio talking more in depth. The catalyst for Britney Spears’ latest post was that interview. In it, Federline talked about wanting his mother to get better. He also alluded to some mental health struggles he and his brother, Sean Preston Federline, support each other through. In the interview, he also defended his grandparents, Jamie Spears and Lynne Spears, saying they weren’t bad people. Although, Federline did concede he felt the conservatorship lasted too long. Now, Britney has fired back with her story.
Britney Spears comes clean
Britney started the audio by talking about how she understands why everyone in her family has a problem with her doing her own thing, because she hasn’t before. She addressed the interview where her son, Jayden, talked about praying for her. She asked, “For what?” Her answer was so that she could keep working and keep supporting both homes, as well as her family.
Also, Britney Spears addressed the pressure she’d been under for most of her life in supporting tours. LeAnn Rimes once spoke about feeling a similar pressure of being responsible for the livelihoods of hundreds or thousands of people. Something we’re sure many other younger performers feel as well.
In fact, one fan commented on the audio, “Britney, please do more of these. Make an audio book. Tell your story for all the girls who want to be involved in entertainment and get taken advantage of by their parents or other people within the business, especially older, predatory men who write up slave contracts.”
We can’t say we disagree. There are so many stories of children in the industry having problems later in life.
Britney Spears gets real
Throughout the audio, she spoke about how her family seems to want something to be wrong with her and don’t value her. In fact, Spears claims that when her kids would visit, they would mostly ignore her and expect her to “shower you in presents” and have perfect food at the ready. Despite all the anger in her voice, it’s clear she wishes things were different. So many fans wrote back expressing their support.
One wrote, “An empath is a narcissist’s favourite dessert. Remember that.”
The audio ended with the singer saying she doesn’t believe in God anymore because of what’s happened. Specifically, she closed with, “I’m an atheist, y’all.”
