    Queen Elizabeth

British Royal News finds that when Queen Elizabeth has something to say, it’s without a doubt that there are plenty of people out there who will stop and listen. In fact, this year more people have tuned in to hear the Queen’s Christmas speech than ever before! New reports indicate that there was a 20 percent spike in viewership as people although out Great Britain tuned in to hear what Her Majesty had to say on Christmas Day. Here’s what you need to know.

Needless to say, this past year has not been the best one on record for the royal family. That’s because they have been hit with one royal scandal after another. The year was plagued with embarrassing headlines, including ones that including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle using a private jet more than necessary and for small jaunts here and there. If that weren’t enough, it appears as though the royal family was also embarrassed when Harry and Meghan went on the record and revealed during an ITV documentary that they were upset with all of the criticism they’ve received from the British media. Prince Harry also hinted that things haven’t been working out very well between him and his brother Prince William. He also admitted that the two brothers have been on different paths lately.

If that weren’t enough, the fact that Prince Andrew had been making headlines for his association with Jeffrey Epstein has been pretty damaging as well. And just like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Prince Andrew had a train wreck of an interview, in which he tried to deny all of the allegations made against him in a BBC Nightline broadcast.

With all of that said, it’s no wonder that so many people tuned in to hear what the Queen had to say. And while she didn’t mention the scandals, Harry, Meghan or Andrew, she did admit that 2019 has been a very rocky year and perhaps one that she would like to forget. Here’s hoping that 2020 will be a better one for all. Fingers crossed.
