    Prince Charles and Prince Philip

British Royal News finds that it looks like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be the only members of the royal family that will be absent at the dinner table on Christmas day. That’s because there are reports that suggest Prince Philip might not make it in time to join the rest of the family at Sandringham Estate for the holidays. In fact, Prince Charles recently gave an update on his father’s condition, suggesting that things probably aren’t as good as the rest of the royals want us to believe. Here’s what you need to know.

According to Britain’s Metro.co.uk, Prince Charles suggested that “things don’t always work as well,” once you get to Prince Philip’s age. No one would argue with that. Just two days ago, reports indicated that Prince Philip was admitted to the hospital for a routine checkup on pre-existing condition. The royal family did not share any other details, other than that everything was being done as a “precautionary measure.”

It was also noted that during the same time that Prince Philip was making his way to the hospital, Queen Elizabeth was going in the opposite direction. She was spotted getting off a train near her favorite residence, Sandringham Estate. A lot of royal observers couldn’t help but notice that the married couple were going in opposite directions only a few days before Christmas.

On Tuesday, while visiting the flood-hit communities in South Yorkshire on Monday, the Prince of Wales was asked about his father’s condition by a holiday well-wisher. Prince Charles responded with, “He’s being looked after very well in the hospital. At the moment that’s all we know. When you get to that age things don’t work so well.” With that said, Buckingham Palace has made no further comments about Prince Philip’s condition, or if he will be at Sandringham Estate on time for Christmas. We will definitely update you with all of the latest information as it comes in.
