British Royal News finds that there’s no doubt that a lot of people would agree that you can always find out who your true friends are during the hardest of times. And that’s what Meghan Markle is probably thinking to herself right now as there are new reports that say some of her ‘friends’ are slamming her for ‘Megxit.’ Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have announced that they are stepping down from their roles as senior members of the royal family, which has caused quite an uproar on both sides of the pond. According to Page Six, there’s this notion that the former Hollywood actress seems to be behind the couple’s decision to call it quits from the royal family. While no one knows exactly what their next step will be, Harry and Meghan did imply in their rather seismic public announcement that they will be splitting their time between London and North America and that they also wanted to be financially independent.

Well, it looks like those in Meghan’s inner circle have a few things to say about it. “Meghan likes to flee when things get heavy, and observe from afar what she has done,” a friend said, according to the publication. “I’m sure she wanted to get back to her inner circle (in Canada); her new creative team who are behind these plans.” Another friend says that it was only a matter of time before Meghan would pull the plug from the rest of the royal family. In fact, it’s been hinted that this plan has been in the works for some time.
“I saw this coming — it was just a matter of time,” the friend said. “With Meghan, it has always been her way or the highway. She is always the center of the relationship, regardless of Harry’s title. She wants to be in the limelight, but under her own terms.”
So far Prince Harry and Meghan Markle themselves have not made any additional comments about their future, aside from their Instagram announcement. However, reports do indicate that Prince Harry is currently in talks with Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Prince William on an exit plan that would be as painless as possible for all parties involved.
