British Royal Family News suggests that Prince Harry has not only severed ties with many people behind the scenes at Buckingham Palace, but it looks like his inner circle of friends got much smaller after he began dating, and eventually married his wife, Meghan Markle.
In fact, there’s a new report that suggests Harry cut out a lot of people from his life after the Duke of Sussex was left stunned by the reception given to his then-girlfriend, Meghan. Here’s what you need to know.
According to the new book, Finding Freedom: Harry, Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family, numerous palace insiders say that Prince Harry was stunned with the reception that was not only given by the public to his girlfriend, but his own close circle of friends. The book say that Prince William’s brother was especially concerned about “the ugliness of racism, both unconscious and intentional.”

“Harry, sensitive to even the slightest hint of prejudice, had fallouts with his own circle,” wrote Scobie and Durand in the book, adding, “The worse came when an old male friends spent an afternoon gossiping about Meghan. Word got back to Harry and the prince immediately cut him off.”
If that weren’t enough, back in 2016, Prince Harry condemned the British media for constantly harassing his girlfriend, while also expressing concern for her safety. A statement was even put out that said the significant curiosity about his private life had crossed in terms of media intrusion.
“Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her,” said the statement from Kensington Palace at the time. “It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm.”
