British royal family fans were over the moon on Monday morning, as a picture of the Queen has emerged online. In the picture, the Queen Elizabeth can be seen riding her horse. It is the first picture of Her Majesty in public since the lockdown began in the United Kingdom. It offers hope for fans that there may be more public appearances from the Queen over the coming weeks.

The picture was captured not too far away from where the Queen is currently spending her time in lockdown. Her Majesty was pictured riding the horse around Home Park, which is directly next to Windsor Castle. The Queen and Prince Philip have been spending their time in lockdown at Windsor Castle, after being moved there shortly before Easter.

British Royal Family News: Queen Looking Relaxed

The picture was released on a Buckingham Palace news release, and saw the Queen looking very relaxed while riding the horse. She wore a colourful scarf, which was also placed over her head to ensure that she was well protected from the record-breaking temperatures that have been recorded in the UK over the past couple of weeks. Her Majesty was wearing a green jacket and black boots.

The horse is called Balmoral Fern and he is 14-years-old. It was reported a number of weeks ago that the Queen has been enjoying the spare time and has regularly been riding. However, hopes of seeing the Queen in public more frequently have been knocked back, after it was revealed that Her Majesty may be staying in doors until the end of the summer due to coronavirus pandemic.

British Royal Family News: Queen’s Love Of Horse Racing

The next couple of weeks are typically some of the most important in the calendar for Her Majesty, as she typically attends the festival meeting at Royal Ascot. The five-day event is typically attended by the Queen as well as various other members from the family. However, that will not be the case for the 2020 event.

The Queen will not be able to attend Royal Ascot this year, as the event will take place behind closed doors. It was revealed earlier this year that the event will go ahead as planned, but for the first time, there will be no fans in attendance. The Queen usually has a number of runners over the week, but this year she will have to watch the action on the television like everybody else in the United Kingdom.
