British Royal Family News looks like the coronavirus has not only forced the entire British monarchy to shelter in place, but it looks like the global pandemic is also forcing Buckingham Palace to make some significant cuts behind the scenes. As a matter of fact, there’s a new report that suggests Queen Elizabeth’s finances might have taken a hit and that there’s a good chance Her Majesty’s staff and royal handlers might see a pay freeze in the coming weeks. Even though the royal family is known for its riches, luxury and crowns and jewels, the economy carnage caused by the coronavirus pandemic will force Queen Elizabeth to tug at her purse strings, as countries from all over the world are seeing near global depression numbers. ITV Royal Editors Chris Ship and Lizzie Robinson spoke about the matter during a recent podcast. Robinson stated that the royal family is certainly feeling the economic impact of Covid-19, despite the fact the monarchy has a “much bigger pot of money” than most other organizations, if not countries, too.
British Royal Family News: Is Queen Elizabeth Not Paying Her Royal Staff?
During the conversation, both royal experts brought up the possibility of a pay freeze for the royal staff. Ship said, “It could mean that some staff working for the Royal Collection Trust staff could face pay freezes. Buckingham Palace has been quite open about it, unusually so I thought. Earl Peel said that we are facing difficulties just as many organizations across the country are facing difficulties.”
Robinson replied: “Yes, they did not shy away from the fact they are facing the same challenges as everyone at the moment. They obviously have a far bigger pot of money than the rest of us, but they are feeling the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.”
